Default Honda's air conditioning o-rings full specs

I haven't made many posts on here but I thought that this one could benefit everyone.

Anyone who has ever needed o-rings for their a/c system for repair or installation of a new system should check this out. Buying these from the stealership is a total rip off as they charge $3-$4 a piece for an 8 cent o ring.

The part numbers and specs go as follows;

80873-ST7-000 (8mm) o-ring - Actual specs 6.6mm ID 10.2mm OD and 1.8mm thick
material is green nitrile rubber.

80871-ST7-000 (5/8) o-ring - Actual specs 13.3mm ID 18.1mm OD and 2.4mm thick
material is green nitrile rubber.

80872-ST7-000 (1/2") o-ring - Actual specs 10.7mm ID 15.5mm OD and 2.4mm thick
material is green nitrile rubber.

I love how honda just gives their o-rings as a standard size (8mm, 1/2", 5/8" etc) this is so us enthusiests have to buy their oring since their sizes mean nothing when it comes to the actual dimensioning and sizing of an o-ring if you tried to buy one from a seal shop. Now you can save loads of money and pay about $1.50 for all of the o-rings to do a complete ac service compared to about $80 at the stealership, take these specs to any seal and packing shop and they will hook you up with what you need, enjoy!

maybe this can be made a sticky

Does this info hold true for these (2008 Odyssey) compressor models?

80872-SN7-003 (1/2")
80871-SN7-003 (5/8")

Thanks for this information, I have been trying to figure this out. Can I ask, how did you get the specs ?

I have noticed by doing some cross referencing of OEM o-ring numbers on rock auto, the Honda OEM part name "(ie "1/2 inch") I think refers to the fitting size (the hose they attach to) rather than anything pertaining to the dimension of the o-ring.

Have you found any aftermarket rings that fit these specs exactly ?
