Honda CRV 2000 Power Window Problem
My Honda CRV 2000 driver side window is stuck in the up position. I hear a click when I press the switch but do not hear anything from the window motor. The fuse is good and I took off the door panel and could not find any loose wires. I think it is the motor. In following the directions to take out the window, regulator and motor it says to manually lower the window so you can loosen the bolts in the window guide. I have to lower it to the bottom to see the bolts. I can not figure out how to lower the window. Do you loosen the 6 bolts of the regulator to the frame in order to lower the window or is there some other way. I also tried to pull it down with the switch on but it will not move at all. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
I purchased the window regulator and motor from Amazon.com for $41. I ended up taking out 5 of the 6 bolts that held the old regulator/motor to the door frame and was able to move the window down. Once down, I was able to loosen the two bolts that held the window to the regulator. I slid the regulator guide forward and was then able to remove the window. The replacement of the regulator/motor was then pretty straight forward. It took me about 2 hours from start to finish and the window is now working like new.
