i just acquired a hydrolocked 98 complete gsr motor. i separated the head...one bent valve. i inspected the cylinders and they are perfectly fine, no glaze or scratches or nicks. it broke one rod. the pistons and the crank still good. there is a small hole in the block. it seems to me that if i just patch welded the hole in the front of the block, i could reuse it? that is the question. i am replacing the other bent or broken parts as we speak. thanks ahead for any solid insight!
ummmm, im not sure, as long as the block is still straight as in the crank journals are still inline with eachother, and the cylinders arent warped from the hydrolocking, i would say use it. take it to a machine shop and have them check it out
