slashDEVslashNULL, yes the shims are oem parts avaliable at Honda or Acura. Helms has a chart showing the different thicknesses there are. Just find out which one yours is, you can mic it or it might have the size stamped on it, and if you need thicker or thinner just follow that chart in the correct direction. I hope I am making sense here.

Muckman, everything just slides off. YOu do however need to make sure that you put them on in the correct order. I have learned from experience. The tranny case will not close.

Wilky, I know a local guy that has Hondata, but I am not sure who tuned it for him. I do have a buddy that can tune an AEM EMS though. There are several I hang out with that know some stuff about Hondas. I am not a real fan of any football teams. I just havent had time to watch much football in the recent years.

92 civic VX B18c, thats the way to do it. Just find a cheap tranny that really will not hurt you if you get it right or not. Thats how I did it. I paid $100 for this tranny and just started taking it apart cause I had nothing to loose.

Now I have a little more confidence in working with my tranny if I ever do so

hey whats up ,,got a question, my 89 accord will go into any gear but wont go.
the speedo moves in any gear the axels are good and the clutch is working .
its crazy the thing will work perfect one day then the next wont go,,ill jack it up and the right wheel will spin but i can stop it with my hand and the motor doesnt die. normally id go for the clutch but it does the same on the ground, is there some posi clutches that maybe worn or something ive almost got the tranny out but have never been inside a honda,,what should i look for? thanks tony

Re: Here's a little tranny how-to for j00!!

someone please help.. iv been stuck for 15 minutes just trying to get this snap ring off. if thats the actual issue. i can pry the bellhousing from the gearbox so far icould fit a dime through it head first, but that snap ring wont pop out, the space is just to small for me to pry the two spokes apart.. ill get both of them as far as they can go but it still wont pop off.

someone please help, and dont give me shit for not being able to perform a relatively simple task..
