i have a 97 honda prelude automatic it just started happening today...but before my transmission would knock in nutral and in park but i took it to honda which help it a little... but after that when i would start my car up my trans would wine really bad...but today i was coming home and it went to go into 3rd but it like nutral droped it... when i got closer to home it would not go into 1 3 or 4 just 2nd and i just buked in and out of gear... but i took it back out after the trans cooled and it was fine up until the trans got heated up then it did it again... just went back out and in my driveway it goes in and out of gear fine but when i would hold my foot on my brake and give it gas the trans doesnt slip.. indicating that the trans isnt blown... right? would this be the signs of the transmission pump?

honestly usually when trans knock in nuetral or park it means the torque converter bolts are loose or the flex plate is bent....so Im gonna suspect you have multiple problems....what did they do to fix the knocking? if they did any service on it. have you check your fluid? does it smell burnt? did they use the right type of fluid? other than that, all your syptoms really sound like the pump is going out, dont drive it until it is fixed or you can tear up the clutch bands/drums
