help quick please asap!!!!
my car did not start earlier today, i jumped it and my radio or nothin on the dash works, windows are really slow, i think its the alternator, it it is how do i test it? and also when i step on the gas it like put puts lie its bout to stall out or sumtin..i need help asap
You can have the altenator tested at autozone for free. And i would also say it could be your distributor but if you can jump it and its slow maybe it more than likely the altenator... so go to autozone and check it out...but altenator usually does not have the starting problem...thats usually the coil and the starter itself. So i say you have three things to test...start with your altenator and distributor which can be done for free at autozone or pep boys maybe....hope this helps..
After reading your post ten times I figured out your problem.
HOOKED ON PHONICS WORKED FOR ME!
jk... Here's what to do:
Take your battery to autozone and have them check it out to see if it can hold a charge, if it's not your battery, move on to checking the alternator.
Get a Digital Multi Meter and place the leads on your battery posts, turn the car on and check alternator. If you don't know how to use the multimeter, then you probably don't own one and just ask the autozone guy to do it for you, it's free to do.
As for the putt putt sound, that's usually the alternator, but if your battery is bad, that might be the case, but i'm fairly sure it's the alternator cuz my integra does the same thing.
