Default HELP PLEASE Technical Help rough idle white smoke

b20 motor low miles with an ls tranny

it was running fine i did an oil change tranny change and the spark plugs. i started driving it and after about 5 minutes it quit on me wouldnt start at all. i changed the distributor and it started right up. it now idles rough and theres white smoke coming out. if i put my hand i can feel the air and wets my hand and smells really strong like gas.

if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. sorry about the grammer

just a guess here.. but are you sure your timing is right after you changed the dizzy?

it kinda sounds like you're running rich.

.. although white smoke is not good... a would denote a more serious problem

white smoke = coolant

black smoke = running rich (unburnt fuel/carbon)

blue smoke = oil


check your compression, sounds like a headgasket.

As far as I know. Mine puts a nice amount of white smoke on warmp-up or high RPM operation. I need to replace the headgasket but have been trying to hold off until I get all my parts for a complete engine rebuild.
