Default help please...prelude with oil probs

okay i posted in an earlier thread that my gf new 97 prelude was overheating when i put on the ac...i found out that the ac fan doesnt come on...what can cause it to go out?...how can i fix it?
she just bought the car last week so today was the first time i checked up on it...also noticed that it was leaking oil from the cam seal on the vtec soloniod side....so i need to change that too

the car was sitting for a few hours and i found out that it was still hot to the touch...opened the oil cap and found my biggest problem....i seems like the oil hasnt been changed for years...smoke was coming out of the oil cap and looking inside i see all kinds of burnt crust...the cap was also crusty...looks like carbon buildup everywhere inside the head!....it scared the **** outta me...can old oil cause this or was something else poured into the engine?...how can i get rid of it?....the oil was pure black and hella thin when i drained it...i put in new oil and a new filter...the car still drives pretty smooth...whats the next step i should take?...she bought it from a small dealer too with no warranty

you didnt go to the dealership with her and help her not get ripped, examples include, check oil levels check under the car for drips, check coolant to see if it's pretty green , drive the car, checking for slippage, smoking from the exhaust, low idle, any stuff like that....people get screwed all the time if they dont know what to check for....a pretty outside and cool looking interior doesnt mean the car has been taken care of properly..........

oh ok, just checking, oh, umm if the car has overheated quite bit, it may have thinned the oil out from too high of heat. and also, sometimes a generic oil in the engine will do some kind of smoking....especially with those overheating conditions.. just some thoughts...hopefully it's ok...

First thing I would do is check the fuse under the hood. Than if that is good, let the car warm up, and unplug the fan and use a test light to see if its getting power when it should be coming on.
