Hi everyone, My name is Joe and I'm new here, and also to the import world. My first one as it turns out (cuz I just like weird stuff) is an 86 accord lxi injected. I sold my 302 thunderbird and put my money into this car, which is nearly road worthy, but I'm stuck.

Problem 1- needs new distributor....imagine that
Problem 2- this is where i need help. the transmission is an automatic, which i'm finding is not the popular choice for that year. sometimes it shifts beautifully and sometimes it shifts hard at high rpm into second, and that's as far as it goes. one of my store managers at advance auto parts who is reasonably good with honda's told me that there is a pcm that controls the transmission? he said in his accord, it was under the console. i tore apart my entire interior last night, seats are out, and i found a bunch of stuff under the driver and passenger seat. from what it looks like, the driver side is the main pcm, but i don't know what the stuff under the passenger seat is. the haynes manual doesn't say either. I could really use some help, as this car has really grown on me already, it ran great for a day, which I had a blast. the plan is hopefully to do an H22 swap one day.
