So i just finished putting on my SKunk2 IM, CTR intake cam, jdm itr headers, NGK sparkplugs and sparkplug wires on my GSR. Ever since i put those mods on my car has been idling very low. Of course i did valve lash adjustments. I'm pretty sure my timing is right and i gapped my sparkplugs to .052. My car is running fine when i drive it but it just idles like at 100-200 about to die. I adjusted my Idle control on my TB already. Sparkplug wires are lined up correctly. When i full throttle theres a lot of lag between 1-6 then once I hit vtec its pretty crazy but not as crazy as it should be. Do you think its a problem with my engine such as timing belt, sparkplugs, etc... Or do you think this is normal and i just need a tune? I will be getting a tune soon but i wanted to know if i had to worry about other things also.
I'm going to try using those fuel injector cleaners and see if it works. I'll let ya know
Oh yeah does anyone know if GSR's came with fuel rail spacers where it connects to the IM? I Looked at the acura dealer and i saw them on the picture but they said they dont sell those so it must not have it?

i have the same problem except mines idle aournd 900-1000rpm. im running on stock p72 ecu with skunk2 IM ,and stage 1 crower camshaft,dc 4-2-1 header,dc sports catback exhaust,sri,unorthodox cam gears,and stage 1 exedy organic clutch..maybe we just need a tune thats all. well let me kno wat happends when u use the fuel cleaner thingy. hhaha.. oh u should try seafoamin ur car also. u can get a bottle of it from pepboys,autozone,etc,. for 7 bucks. it clean all the dirty **** from ur engine exhaust and more..

im sure stock spark plug gap is like .044" i would keep it at that
check your timing should be 16degress plus or minus 2

why would u be running type r cams with a stock ecu and think u wont have problems? get a tune and ur car will idle and run properly
When did i say i had a stock ecu? I have a chipped p28 with a type-r base map. But yeah i'm thinking i just need a tune but i already did, fixed everything. Now I'm going turbo

why are you going turbo? did you not get any signifacant gains from the ctr intake cam? i ask cause i am getting ready to buy one for my DD gsr but i would like to know experienced opinions on if this cam is worth it or not?
Yes this cam is worth it, When i tuned i got 182whp with Ctr intake cam, Skunk2 IM, JDM ITR 4-1 headers, 2.5 piping and exhaust, with some 10:8:1 compression cp pistons. This cam is worth it, Vtec hits harder and is louder too when i first installed it without the pistons. I'm going turbo because i just felt like feeling some boost. My friends have a boosted sohc eg and my brother has a fully built ls turbo. I've been driving there cars lately and i liked how it felt
I mean my car is pretty fun to drive right now but like i said, I love that boost feeling. I'm just planning to hit around 270whp as a DD and hopefully get some good mpg still. But most people that i know gets good highway mpg so i should be fine I guess.

cool, whats your 1/4 times? did you ever get the idle problem figured out when you were running the type r base map or did you have to tune it?
Well the same thing happened to my friend too and when he tuned, it worked, same thing for me. I say if you can get a ctr/itr cam for a good price, get it. Otherwise get some skunk2 stage1's. Maybe you'll be lucky and it'll work perfectly, happens to some people and people like me just get bad luck. I havent taken it to the track yet because theres no 1/4 in San Diego but I'm planning to go to the Sacramento raceway in the summer but by then i'll be boosted.
