help ID y80 tranny
how could you tell if its a Y80 gsr tranny or ls tranny?
what do you look for on the stamped code number?
i just dont want to get rip off thats all thank you.

Take the casing out and take pictures...I'll tell you what it is after that. While your in there check all your syncros, if they're toast...then you got screwed anyways.

IF thats the case...then have him drive it with you in there and have hime get to 80MPH in 5th gear. IF the RPM at 80 MPH is at 4200RPM its a GSR...if the RPM is at 3400RPM its an LS.
