Hi gents, I've searched found a pile of information, but haven't quite found what Im looking for. Ive been down this road with previous cars, but now Im working with a bone stock '99 integra LS and I'm looking at swapping in a header only. The reason being, is that I'm just looking for better breathing and an increase in throttle response. And a slightly more noticeable engine note. The car is a base model so I have weight on my side, but I know it'll never be a rocket. My previous car was a '90 with a b16 and all the goodies, I'm Im tired of the racket with the intake and exhaust upgrades.
Anyone thats installed JUST a header, or even a header and a filter feel free to chime in. Again, I'm not looking for major power gains, (originally I was going to drive it stock) but I know its sufficated slightly and I just cant have that
Any thoughts?

there are just sooo many companies on the market. I guess its just a matter of choice. I always like the reliability of dc headers and aem intakes. just IMO. BTW. I know what you mean about just wanting to get rid of all the headaches. lol. Bump for you.

Haha, thanks! I think I'm slowing down in my old age! I'm looking at either a new greddy or DC header, or a used comptech (which might be overkill). Do you know of anyone thats swapped just a header and had any thoughts? I'm thinking that it'll speed up the exhaust enough to increase a bit of throttle response if nothing else. Plus it'll look tasty.
If your wanting to keep the noise down, but want a bump in power then a header/CAI combo is a good way to go. Cat-backs don't give you much power-wise anyway. Our parts runner is a 94 Accord EX and that is the route we went. It has an Injen CAI, Megan Racing stainless header and Magnecor plug wires, nothing else. Normal driving it is just as quiet as stock, but has a nice growl when you get on it. We got a decent bump in power and get better fuel mileage too. And yes, it definetely looks better
