First of all i hope that i am in the right forum?
I have a 00 si i bought at a auction and the motor was still in it. It was missing vtec
soleniod, speed sensor, distributor, and plugs. Anyways, the cylinders had crud and debris in them. so i took them head off and cleaned them out and replaced the stuff that was missing. Car was running for a while just fine but blows smoke. Telling me the rings are to be replaced. Sorry for the long story but i figured i'd let you in on the hole situation. Two months afterwards the car starts running likt s@#! kind of sounds like a wrx but does not run like one. Completely gutless, really ruff idle. Check engine light goes crazy just blink, blink, blink, etc. I tried to check it it just stays solid NO blinking codes. I tried different ecus, distributors, new plugs and wires everything i could think of still does the same bs.
Has anyone heard of this or have come across this? Car so far is completely stock.
Please......... anybody, i am lost and confused lemmeno!!!

 

Blinking CEL = A misfire is being detected.

 

I checked the helms already a couple of times and i cannot find anything explaining what it is doing. It gives codes for misfire detections but when i go to check the codes, the cel just stays on constant. And it blinks when you don't check it at all......

Like EE_Chris said, a blinking CEL with the engine running means there is a bad missfire in progress. Given your other complaints I would do a compresion or leakdown test to see which cylinder is dead.
Edit&gt; Make sure your plug wires are in the right order first.
