Help, car died..
Alright, went to start my car after class, and well it doesnt start, everything works, lights, radio, all the dash lights, everything. I checked all the fuses, there all good, when i try to start it, it doesnt click, pretty much does nothing. When i hold the key to start, i can hear the feul pump on, and also the car will not jump start. So what do you guys think it could be, the starter, alternator, or maybe something in the distributor??
If you have a 12 volt test light check for main power on the back of the starter. Get a friend and on the small wire on the starter connect your test light and get him to try and roll the engine over. If the test light light up the problem is right inside the starter. You may not have had the car rolling fast enough to get it bump started. Let us know how you made out.
And... if the test light doesn't light up, then check your ignition switch, or the interlocks. Automatic has an interlock switch for 'park', and manual has an interlock switch on the clutch pedal. Either one of these can be open and prevent you from starting.
