Default Help with braided clutch line please!

Where can I get a stainless steel line that I can use for the clutch? I'm gonna run it from the master cylinder to the slave. Anyone know what size the fittings are? I called fast line performance, and all they have is the one that replaces the stock soft line. Thanks!

Because it's cooler!
Couldn't you use more braided stainless lines under there?

Wouldn't the stock hardlines be stronger than a braided stainless steel line?

Cool is my middle name, but the stock hard clutch line is stronger than SS lines. Think about it, solid metal tubing or rubber hose covered in woven stainless steel. You only have to replace that soft line with the SS line, anything else is just overkill and not as strong.

no **** cap'n. Your clutch response isn't going to be improved with braided lines. But your blingblingness might be.

The only reason I can see for people to use braided line is because they just did a swap, and the old clutch line is damaged or cannot be found, which calls for a quick replacement.

I think that if you want a different clutch feel, you need to go with different fluid.

Thanks Admiral. All I am talking about is the rubber line that connects to the
slave......that will flex. An SS replacement for that will not flex and make the clutch feel a little more solid. Less flex lets the fluid tranfer quicker, maybe not much, but more than the stock rubber line will allow. What magic fluid is going to affect the feel of a clutch? It doesn't get boiling hot like a brake line.

I have a braided clutch line because my hard line got fucked when I put the tranny back in. They feel the same. I used a braided to hard adapter and used the ends of the hard line so there is a couple inches of hard line on the end of the braided on both sides. Don't go through the trouble if you don't have to but if you want you can try the same thing that I did. Sorry no part number because it was a while ago.

I have on and I noticed a changed immediately. All it did was move the engage point a little and I had to get used to my clutch again. I believe the fittings are 10mm brake line to -4an. They use a hydraulic line it holds pressure the same way as stock but it looks cooler. The only reason that I did mine was because I'm cool like that. It does make it easy to move when you get a swap though.

I just swapped in a B18B into an auto civic and I just thought it would be easier if I went with the braided line. The hardline is in many pieces and I wasn't too sure if I should use a civic one or an integra one. But I did buy the stainless line. It does look better, but I bought it cause 1) I got it faster than the stock honda parts, 2) it was cheaper , but mostly I found a place, and I only had to wait one day. The engine is in now, so I'll find out how it works. Not that I have anything to compare it to.
