My GF's 94 honda accord is having problems starting. The car has 180,000 km (110,000 miles) on the car and recently, it's having problems starting. The car would be driving fine but once she shuts it off and tries to start it, it sometimes wouldn't start with the D4 light flashing (it's an auto so there is this gear indicator on the cluster) OR, it would fire and quickly stall with the D4 light flashing, OR it would fire and stay running, with D4 flashing, but when you put it in gear, it would hesitate to move as if the parking brakes were on. Neutral and reverse is fine.
BUT, if she leaves the car for 15 to 30 min and tries gain, it would start fine.
Now this does not happen everytime she shuts her car off but it's progressively getting worse. We had her plugs, wires, rotor, and cap changed recently. What else could be wrong? There is no check engine light that went off so i am assuming is not a engine problem......could it be the tranny?? Any insight would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
