Default HELP!

My car is coming up to about 35k miles, and I wanted to save a bunch of money by doing the 30k mile service myself. The thing is, I dont exactly know what I have to buy and what to do.. Can someone point me in the right direction please?

lol they will probably do spark plugs, wires (maybe), oil change, gear oil change, fuel injector cleaner, fuel filter, replace PCV Valve (Maybe) and thats it.

Your shiny new toy should have come with an owner's manual. In it, the recomended service intervals and items to be serviced are spelled out quite nicely. It's mostly oil change and a lot of inspect this and that. The dealer's service schedule may be filled with unecessary items that only put extra cash in the dealer's pocket and aren't required or even recomended.

Could you point out what items on the dealers list would be considered unnecessary & what ones wouldn't be recommended?

Type D 30k mile scheduled maintenance

* Replace engine oil* and filter.
* Service front and rear brakes.
* Rotate tires**, inspect for wear and adjust pressure.
* Lubricate all hinges, locks, and latches with multipurpose grease.
* Inspect tie rod ends, steering gear box and boots.
* Inspect suspension components.
* Inspect driveshaft boots.
* Inspect and adjust drive belts.
* Replace dust and pollen filter.
* Replace air cleaner element.
