Help! 02 Si oil filter ?s
Ok,i went to honda today to get a filter for my 02 Si.They handed me the SAME filter that i used on my 00 Si....Now,i know Hondas mostly use 1 model filter, but when i went to remove the filter on the 02,it was nothing like what i recieved. The one on the car is long and narrow, versus the short fat one my old si used. Can i use this filter? i know some of the b series guys use this filter, but can i use one for a b series?
Is your car new? I mean is this your first oil change? If it is, then understand that when you buy your car, Honda usually puts in the Japanese model oil filter. American Honda Oil filters are a little different than the ones in japan. I think.
So screw the Honda brand and get a Mobil One filter. From what I've read it is the BEST oil filter (awesome filtration & excellent flow, other than that the interior construction is almost identicle to the Honda brand) It just costs a bundle!

Actually, it does fit. Some B series people actually use your (new Si and RSX) oil filter because it is smaller so it increases oil pressure. But you shouldn't lower your oil pressure by using a B series filter.
Go back and complain. Or go out and buy yourself a Mobil 1 filter.

honda uses either on on the new civics so they actually gave you the right filter. but the other smaller size will work. most honda dealers will give you the bigger of the two because that is the one they sell the most of
