Default heater blower resistor visual inspection

i been lookin at pictures on line of this part n im thinkin i need to replace mine ...i get no response from my heater blower and id like to think this will fix it ...i see no broken connections tho seems like it should work just not have speed adjustments idk tho. heres what my blower motor resistor looks like:

also i had to replace my accessory resistor cause it was taken apart n had a screw wedged in it to work ...does this need to be grounded to work? cause my radio n lighter are no longer working -all fuses are good.

any help is appreciated -danny

MM&Y of car would help.

To test if the resistor is the problem, turn ign. on and supply a ground directly to the blower motor, if motor runs, [full speed] the problem is most likely the resistor.

You can test the switch by jumping the terminals in the resistor plug, but I need a MM&Y for wire colors, although one of the leads at plug will be the same color as rthe ground at the blower plug, the other leads at the resistor plug are the diff. speed settings...
EG; on a 94 Integra the blower motor power lead is a blue/white and the ground is a blue/black, the other 3 leads at resistor plug are blue/yellow, blue/white and blue, in tis case you would jump from the blue/black to the blue/yellow and set speed at 3, blue/black to blue/white and set speed to 2. blue/black to blue and set speed to 1, all will run the blower at full speed, [no resistors] if the switch is good and blower is good and blower has power.

Normally when a blower resistor fails the blowers fast speed still works, [most Honda/Acura].94

PS, you can not tell if a blower resistor is bad by just looking at it, [unless resistors ar physically broken.

Looks like yellow/black is blower motor power and blue/black is ground.

Blue/white is speed 1
Blue/yellow is speed 2
Blue/green is speed 3
Blue/black is speed 4

Does the blower work at speed 4? 94

blower does not work at any speed if i check for juice at the blower connecter with the blue/white blue/black i get nothing. The resistor wires are all giving me 12v light except for the ground if i try to just take 12v power to the blower motor with everything pluged in i get a click noise from my accessory resistor (behind the radio). it seems like that accessory resistor isint functioning properly and causing the problems ...my radio n lighter still arent working. thank you fcm deff helpin me out

alright direct 12v power to the blue/white wire on the blower motor makes the fan not only turn on but the speed control works too. id like to fix everything legit but im just gunna use a key controled 12v source and head to work with heat if it gets down to it lol seems like that same power supply connected to the accessory resistor could possible solve all my problems! not sure of what wire is the power lead and i dont wanna fry this new resistor.

Not sure what you mean by "accessory resistor".

Sorry, my wiring diagram for a 90 Civic is crappy, but it does not show any "accessory resistor" or even a relay on the blower motor power lead, all it shows is a 20A fuse, it is on the same circuit as the read window defog switch indicator light, [does it work?] it also indicates the power lead is a yellow/black, not a blue/white, but like I said it is a crappy wiring diagram. 94

I find it easier to just check the resistance between the prongs.

I jump the larger of the 4 wires and if the blower turns on it is almost always the transistor.

sounds like its the resistor then i jumped the big wire earlier n it works fine! the accessory relay is right behind the center console it was broken before n had a screw in it. i had no idea what it was at first cause the outer case was gone, but my radio n and 12v outlet were dead when the screw was out lol. replaced it and it wound up having a tab at the top that seemed like a gtound ...i grounded it and it works!

To.check resistors use an o hm meter. One must be opened
