Havin' trouble deciding on what to do next.....HELP!!!
What should I do next the '99 EX Civic coupe...here's the scenario...the car that I plan on doin' surgery on is my only means of transportation so it can't be down for more than a weekend...it is burning oil pretty bad b/c I get on it quite often should I......
If money is not that big an issue, go B18c5.
If money is an issue got w/ the B16A2.
You will not be rebuilding the bottom end and the head in one weekend.

hmmm, that sounds like a challenge.

i had that same deal with rebuilding my engine in a short time, though i said a week. turned out to be 3 weeks, mainly cuz i had sooo many damn things get in the way like graduation grr, my grandfathers eye surgery, missing tools, half a week at the beach, stupid people telling me what to do...small things pop up and there is nothing you can do, you gotta be totally prepared, i honestly think i could rebuild my motor again in half a week now, but thats 10-12 hour days. which i don't mind. just realize if its the first engine you've rebuilt well...its gunna take a while
ohh go b18c for fun, go h222 for a challenge go b16 if you want it to feel like your old motor with a bit more pep

man... do whatever you want, it seems kinda stupid for us to tell you what to do when we have no idea of how much money you really want to put into it, or were you really want to go with it.
i voted GSR swap just because thats what i did to my EG, and i love it. i wouldent waste the time doing a swap just to a B16, not enough of an upgrade for the same amount of work, i would rather stick SOHC, or go all the way to a B18 or B20.
if your friend can rebuild in a weekend... that would be tight. i mean, you would have a compleatly rebuilt motor that would be perfect to start modifying.
so i say b18 or better swap... or rebuild.
