i just did a gsr swap and i got a skunk2 short shifter and im haveing a problem wit clearnce of the shift linkage counter weight with the exaust. i have a 5 zigen full cat back and there is the huge resinator right under the shifter where there usually is one but the 5zigen is really big. now my cat is too long 2 inches to be exact and i bent the coutner weight so it wouldnt hit the exaust. but my exaust is hangign out the back a lil to much and hits the heat sheild under the back seats. if i got the cat the right lenghts teh coutner weight would hit. what should i do? cut the coutner weight off? i dont know i need some help thanks

dunno for sure,
maybe u can get a smaller cat? if possible? maybe racing cars are smaller? or u can put a test pipe there instead of a cat?

just some ideas....

 

i have a test pipe as a cat but if i get the right size test pipe which would be smaller then the test pipe i got on it will move my whole exaust abck making hit the shifter

so with a long test pipe it doesn't hit, but with a short one it does?? or it hit's both ways?

if it doesn't hit with the long test pipe, i don't see the prob??

 

the problem wit the long test pipe it doesnt fit my dc jdm style header and it makes the pipe under teh back seats hit the heat sheild

 

i have a thermal 3" on my crx and a skunk2 shortshifter. the shifter sits like right on top of it and scrapes. nothing you can do but bend the hangers alittle to get it to hang alittle lower.
