Gm syncromesh or pennzoil syncromesh??
I've run GM Syncromesh in my tranny since day one(bought it with 0 miles and have about 10,000 on it now), shifts awesome. I get it at a local chevy dealer and its about $12 a quart.
I've heard about the "green" Honda MTF being Castrol 10W-30 Syn, but i was wondering; I mean, does Honda use that for all cars everywhere? Or do they put 5W-30 in colder regions or regions that get really hot in the summer (100 degrees), but really cold in the winter (-10 degrees)? I know the midwest is really notorious for that sort of weather, and well, oil has a temperature rating as well, so i was just wondering.
I work for our local Honda dealership in the service dept.....The "green" label MTF that we sell is I hate to say it guys: Castrol 10w-30 regular oil, trust me I install it everyday, when we run out of the "green" label bottles, guess what goes in instead, engine oil. Dont beleve the BS about it having some special additives in it. when the economy went down so did everything else.... I have heard alot of people using the penzoil Syncromesh and no problems.
If you work for a Honda dealership, then you must be familar with MSDS sheets. They'll tell you everything you need to know. If you're filling transmissions with Castrol motor oil you're cheating the customer out of their money, and service...
Unless you have a "newer" MSDS sheet that shows that Honda MTF is made by BP. Then I'm wrong.
