Gauge Cluster Bulbs

I was just curious what purpose is of the blue condoms about the light bulbs in gauge clusters? thanks

Well I took one off, and noticed no difference so I wasnt sure what they are for.

They are to give more of a pure white output, it's the same trick they use to get the amber bulbs (orange condom).
