fuse for battery relocation
so everything on the CRX is starting to come together. It's gotta be up and running by the weekend of the 17th-18th (NHRA national event).
We had to replace the old plastic keyed battery cutoff with a new 4 pole NHRA legal cutoff. And we had to redo the wiring for that. Got the battery box bolted on, got new terminal connectors, etc.. And now we have to put in the fuse.
Now tell me, why hasn't anyone put a fuse directly on the terminal? (or have they?) It seems like that is the best place for it to be...
Anyways. I now need to figure out what kind of fuse to put on there. I'm no good at electronics, so I have no idea what size to get. Can anyone offer any help? What information do you need from me to help me out? Wiring size? Type of battery?

is the battery in the trunk? if so i would put a 100-150 amp fuse or circuit breaker on the line with in 18 inches of the battery you dont want 15 feet or so of line in the car if it accidently grounds out very bad thing, if the battery is still in the engine bay then dont bother. go check a local stereo shop for this size fuse or breaker
Your starter motor will kill a 100-150 amp fuse every time you try to crank the engine. Try something like a 300-400A fuse... your local car audio shop should have them but they're not cheap.

i started with a 60A fuse and it blew straight up,
went to 150A and have been starting fine for the last 12 months...
make sure it is as close as possible to hte battery terminal...
