Fuel Injector stuck open........................
yeah i had that problem on my freshly built 3000 bottom end
. one of the injectors got stuck open while i was in the highway.car just stood at 8200 rpm for like 10 secs dint go up or down until i heard the car finally just shut off. turned out the injector dumped so much fuel into that cylinder that it not only ate the pistons but also the walls and rods. which were both forged and sleeve walls.
you are lucky that you dint run the car and found out the problem before it got worse. some oil in there might fix your problem,if it dont rebuild would be the next step.

good luck with that, but if your rings are gone at least you can still use the car to get you around,in the mean time you can save for a rebuild,as long as you dont start racing the sucker lol
