i blew my first b16, the shop put in my new one, using new intake manifold, new TB and the new motor. and now i dont think vtec kicks in. i got a code 22 vtec pressure valve on the CEL. and sumtimes it feels its pulling, but i never hear vtec.
my wiring has been checked by 3 mechanics. everything is fine. so whatever it is, its gotta be from the new motor, IM, TB. and whatever that comes with these things that has to do with vtec.(vtec solenoid)<- checked it, has voltage. but when i checked the voltage from the grey plug coming from the ecu, there was no spark or anything while the car was running. but im not sure if that gets electricity when you hit vtec or its always on????

I've noticed that my exhaust has played a role in how audible crossover is.. I've ran open header, open cat, full cat back, etc.. Some I can't hear and some I can. Even though it pulls you say, does it die off early? I know when my oil pressure was low and I couldn't get crossover it would still pull but fell on its *** hard (obviously).

When I had my swap done my car felt like that it would pull but it didn't have any Vtec sound to the engine or the exhaust. My problem was the knock sensor was removed. Got a new from honda and was on the road. May or may not be your problem. The feeling you feel is probably not truly Vtec its probably just wide open throttle. Good luck

yup, you either have a faulty pressure switch or your wiring is wrong. I have the same setup as you, and I hear vtec perfectly at 5700.

If you know your wiring is good double check it with a voltmeter from the Pressure switch to the ECU pin and see if you get connectivity. If not then you knowyou have a short so replace the wire. After you replace the wire and still having the problem replace the pressure switch
