Which should I hook up the violet wire to?

the o2 sensor hooks up to the ecu...so hook it up to whereever is convenient for you..i say the ecu so you wont have an extra wire int he engine bay

yeah xcalibur is right they are the same wire
just a heads up d14 on the pr4 obd1 ecu
