Default Exhaust question.

Well I have an LS/Vtec with PR3 pistons on a stage3 cam on E-85. My question is, has anyone had any problems with the Apexi world Sport 2 exhaust as far as restriction? I dont have a cat. I have a straight pipe. But I feel while street tuning, that it kind of holds the car back. Please let me know if anyone has done research on this or knows about these exhausts. Thanks

The World Sport(and WSII) uses a chambered muffler design, which is why it's so quiet. It was designed as a mild exhaust upgrade that flows better than stock, but doesn't raise the exhaust note to deafening levels. If you're looking to get the most out of your exhaust, then it would make sense to minimize restrictions and maximize flow and velocity. It seems kind of counterproductive if you're running a straight pipe, yet are keeping a chambered muffler. You might want to look into a straight-thru muffler design. There are plenty of manufacturers and designs to choose from.

OKay, so in other words, this is a restrictive muffler. Well I had this exhaust system on the vehicle before I started building the motor. Funny how Apexi would make a whole exhaust system 2.5" piping, then just restrict the whole thing at the end! Now thats counter-productive for you. I guess when I tune the car again, I will pull the muffler part out. Thanks Man.
