Default Exhaust Q: Mandrel bend vs Machine Bend?...is it worth it?

the exhaust shop said they would do a mandrel bent system with borla for 375...
but then i can get the machine bent with the borla for 250...

is it worth spending the extra 100 bucks to get the mandrel bent?

im not going F/I,

i have headers and chip already...
ive heard it wont make a difference, if its mandrel or machine, just price.

help me out.
thanks,.

also, whats the difference between buying a system like TT w/borla or magnaflow as opposed to the custom one made at a exhaust shop [that have both borla and magnaflow mufflers]?

just aesthetics?, and bolt on compatibility?
there are no other performance gains or anything, just from piping is there?...[if both were mandrel, or machine and stainless or not]
do the resonators make the difference?
because some systems dont come with resonators either..

btw: this is for a non honda....but i doubt this should make a difference

yes there is a performance gain with mandrel bent compared to machine bent. it depends what kind of machine bent also, if it's crush bent, thats the worst kind you can get. but the compression bend, it's actually not that bad. you'll notice a few horsepower with the mandrel bent piping.

Are those the systems that you still have to take to a shop to finish the install, or are they complete and ready to hang?

You will have to take it to a shop unless you or a friend have a welder.

even in naturally aspirated conditions?

how about making the machine bent piping 1/4" bigger [2.5 rather than 2.2.5], to make up the difference of better flow that a 2.25 mandrel bent would do.
