sounds like the TPS sensor is bad.

Well, honestly there isn't much to figure this kind of issue out. Many codes won't be triggered because the sensor in question is still scaling, just not accurately. TPS can jump voltages, causing driveability issues, but it's still reading so the ecu doesn't see the issue.

Fact is, if your "mechanics" can't figure it out then they're dumb asses and go somewhere else. Simple test procedures can be done to ensure the tps and map are functioning correctly, from there I'd run it on my computer and just watch all the inputs to find the issue.

I could fix that car easily and that doesn't mean I'm necessarily special, it just means your dealing with people who aren't capable or equipped enough to handle the problem. Anyone can sit here and guess what your problem is, but the fact is someone locally needs to put their hands on it and figure it out. This forum isn't gonna do much other than speculate.

If you want advice, then buy a multimeter and a Helms and start troubleshooting. If your not capable of handling that, then take your car somewhere more reputable. Issues like these aren't hard to figure out if your dealing with someone that truly understands EFI systems. If they are guessing then they're nothing more than robots doing basic mechanic work, in which case move on.
