engine
here is a quick rundown of the b16 engines
the B16a is the JDM (japanese domestic market) version of the B16a2/3 motors for here in the US
the B16a can be eithre first gen (88-91) or second gen (92+)
the major diffrences are the OBD (onboard diagnostic) system. first gen's are equipped with OBD0 while the second gens have OBDI
the b16a3 is from the del sol vtec (93-96 i belive) they are virturally identical to the second gen B16a
the b16a2 is from the 99-00 civic SI they are OBDII and have all the things required for that.
why does japan just call them all b16a? i dont know. i just know it confuses alot of people. NO japanese engine has a designiating engine number at the end (b18c could be type r or gsr)
