eg6 gauge cluster brightness????
Ok i've searched and searched and still can't find anything on how to make the cluster brighter. I'm planning on getting one but know that for some reason when you put the jdm cluster in a usdm car its not as bright as it should be. So for anyone that owns a jdm eg6 cluster and has successfully made it brighter, PLEASE tell me how to accomplish this. Thanks.

Honda uses a varying resistence to ground to adjust brightness in the clusters.
so whenever you turn on your parking lights, a full 12 volt is sent down a wire thats usually red/black stripe.
the dimmer switch applies a resistence that weakens the ground input for the paking light circuit, which in turn dims the bulbs.
so since the positive wire is always full bright, all you have to do is use a multimeter for the brightness control wire and check for continuity to the ground side of one of the bulb sockets which will tell you for sure, what wire on the cluster harness runs to the ground side of the cluster bulbs, once you have found this wire, simply tie it in with your cluster main ground.
in plain english, you're taking the wire that would normally be coming from the dimmer circuit, and grounding it for your cluster only.
then, whenever you turn on your parking lights, the bulbs will have a 0 resistence ground, or "full power" as will be shown in the actual light output.
one question, do you care if you have control over the brightness anymore? because what i have explained above will make it full bright all the time.
i would love to check my eg helms right now, but im at work and dont have the pdfs...
if anyone knows more then me please chime in and throw me a
if thats innaccurate.
