Default dx longblock with hf mpfi?

i found a good price(100$) on a dx longblock with 118k on it. will my mpfi from my 8v d15 work on the 16v? will it run ok? i figure my mpfi will improve performance on the 16v, since the crx si was mpfinjected.....
will i need anything else besides the longblock for the swap?
thanks for the help guys!

i know i'm not really the one to be giving advice, but the only great difference between the dx 1.5 and the si 1.6 is the fi system, the dx has 92 hp, and the si has 102, the mpfi will bring the dx up to 100hp easy...much better than the hf's 72hp, and the long block should go right in no probs

damn dude youre everywhere...thanks for the quick response i was gonna ask you what the hp on the dx was.oh yea my 8v is rated at 62hp i thought????
also in the dx, it is a 1.5, but its 10hp shy of the si? but the si is a 1.6, diff pistons, head, etc?????
so all i'm sayin is why is the hf motor rated at 62 o2 72, and then the dx at 92, and then the si at 102?
is there a site where i can double check the specs on the dx motor?
thanks again

late night and i'm bored...lol...you'll have to find it, but when i was doing the d16z6 swap on mine i ran across a site where they were talking about using hf, and si's mpfi on dx's and pulling on si's, i don't know about that, but i do know there is very little difference between the dx 1.5 and the si 1.6...i'll look for the site

any of you og racers ever used stock hf pistons in a single cam block...thay are actually domed...i slapped them in a sohc vtec block and it ran snappy as ever....just my 2 cents...because before there was dual cams...there was single cams..

the hf, dx, and si all have the same size bore for the pistons, even though the si is a 1.6. in fact, the dx has the highest compression of the three i believe. i know the dx has higher compression than the si. the piston size for the 2nd gen crx's are 84mm. you can get high compression 1.6 pistons from an earlier integra and use those too. those are also 84mm bore. and the si is rated at 108 hp. the dx is 92 hp and the hf is somewhere around 72 hp. that one i am not totally sure about. the heads are all the same. the only differences are the cams, intakes, valves (since the hf only has 8), and cranks. if you put the mpfi intake manifold on the dx head (which will bolt right up) then you will have higher compression and possibly the same hp as the si. no matter what you do, you will have an easy swap between the two motors. oh, and if you can, get an si or dx tranny to go with that motor. the hf motor is geared way too low. your best option would be the si tranny.

uhh, no.
Here's the specs on the 88-91 D series stuff:

The bore of the D series blocks is 75mm.
The stroke of the 1.5l motors is 84.5mm, 1.6l is 90mm.
The major difference between the HF, DX, and Si also has to do with the CAM.
The CR of the 1.5l is 9.2:1 and 1.6l is 9.1:1. Try some 88-89 Integra pistons - 9.5:1
Putting the Si MPFI intake manifold on the DX head will not increase your CR.

I wouldn't bother with the $100 DX long block. You are not going to see ANY improvement, especially with the HF transmission.

sorry, i meant they all had the 75mm bore. i have been working on my lude for a few months now and was thinking those numbers. those pistons are 84mm. sorry. but the integra pistons are still the same size bore as the 2nd gen crx.

sorry guys.

I have a slow 97 cx with a d16y7, could I put a b16 head on it if I ran an oil pressure line to activate the vtec similar to an LSVTEC?

Default keep this rule in mind.

There are few exceptions, but largely the rule is D and B don't mix. Almost nothing crosses over. There is no DOHC VTEC head for the D series.

Alright, figured it was worth the try, i'm in the process of suing Next Generation of Deltona Fl, for my chincy ls vtec setup. I cant touch the bottom end of the motor till the trial is over. just wanted a few more hp meanwhile.

Am I limited to d series tranny's also?
