Driver side engine mount keeps breaking....?
Hi,
I have a 1992 HB Civic Si and I did a b16a swap. A few month after the swap, the bolts of the driver side engine mount broke... ok no problems, just replaced the bolts and it ran fine.
Then I decided to get a B20 bottom end because I wanted more torque (power too hehe), obviously. So I got the thing in the car, along with JDM ITR throttle body, intake manifold, fuel rail and injectors. Everything seemed normal for another few months because I smoked most of the cars I raced against at highway speeds. Now, the same driver side engine mount bolts just broke again..... They are normal OEM bolts...
Any clues?! Maybe something was forgotten or overlooked in the swap?? I don't want it to happen again.. please help!!

are you using any spacers/washers??what mount are you using??Ive never heard of that unless the people were using spacers/washers....even on race motors..make sure theyre tightened all the way and that there is no gap between the mount and bracket.
Try checking them every once in a while to see if they're working themselves loose; I can't imagine snapping one of those bolts while it's tight!
If it's working itself loose, though, it could break pretty easy when you nail the throttle. The motor would torque down and it would smack the mount pretty hard, prob. breaking that bolt.
