do i need an fpr?
Im getting my car dyno tuned later this week most likely, and they will be tuning my VAFC, and im gonna advance my timing to 18 degrees. I have I/H/E/IM, so i think some tuning is necessary, especially since the skunk2 im is a single runner, with vtec at 5600 and stock fuel map is setup for vtec at 4400 and a dual runner intake. ANYWAYS, with my setup, do I need a FPR? I have no clue if its necessary or not. I assume that they could tweak my pressure to get a few extra ponies?
I don't know the A/F ratios and what not, but I would say that you are better to have one than to not, it is a good tuning tool. I have a 99GSR w I/H/E unorthodox SS, Aem cam gears and I need this mod bad. I am not lean, but I am very close. I think that I am just taking advantage of the factory ECU to it's fullest because I make 165whp and 126ft/lbs.
yes, you do.
I would also suggest getting a high flow cat, your current cat is a huge bottleneck right now
the V-afc is generally used to lean down the fuel, where the FPR is used to increase it. So what will end up being done is increasing the fuel pressure and then leaning out the areas that need it.
