Default Distributor question

I know this may sound stupid to some people but are Distributors the same for 5speed and automatic ?? My friend has a OBD1 Ls Distributor that I need but it came off his automatic so can I use it ? I think so and hope so. Any help will be appreciated

well since the distributor is from a 92 and the motor is a 95 do i buy a 92 cap and rotor and wires or 95 ? Any replies will be helpful
