differences between s1 trannys?
Exactly as sleeper4dr said, the cases are the exact same but one has shitty gearing for VTEC motors and the JDM S1 is the one most people want... A quick way I test for a JDM S1 is to rotate the mainshaft, place a tick mark (sharpies work well) on the diff to watch for one full rotation... If you have a JDM S1 you should rotate the mainshaft ~14.2 times to get one full rotation of the diff (**only when the car is in FIRST gear) If it comes up less then you most likely either have a Y1 or USDM S1 (nonVTEC)... That's just if you are in a rush, otherwise open up the casing and count the teeth for each gear... Hope this helps a little, Latez
