diff. between organic and non-organic clutch
hey, im lookin to buy a new clutch soon, and i was wondering what the diffrences are between organic and non-organic clutch disks. what are the pro's and con's of each? thanks
I think that organic clutches are made more for daily driving. Exedy makes a good organic clutch that should take a good amount of abuse. Most unsprung clutches do not have organic facing on the disks; they usually have some kind of friction material or metallic **** that makes for a HARSH engagement, but it will hold more power than your car will most likely ever make. You can also expect to snap axles, and worst case, blow your transmission with these kind of clutches. I feel that any Clutchmasters/ACT/Centerforce Stage 1-2 clutches are the best for daily driving. Most of them don't have an increase in pedal effort and they will last hella longer than an OEM clutch.
