i changed my tires about 2 weeks ago and ever since sometimes i hear this noise as if the tires where throwing lil rocks under the car while it was moving. and now on another tread i read they said thats what detonation sounds like?? what do you guys think?

 

does it only happen when you are on the gas? if so then perhaps.

Changing your tires will not cause your car to detonate...

You can always retard the timing, just in case..

what brand of tires, air pressures?

Some brands and models make much more noise than others. If you're hearing this noise in neutral...no it's not detonation.
