DB9 Datalogging cable HOWTO ?

DB9 Datalogging cable HOWTO ?
I was wondering if anyone has the wiring information for a simple DB9 serial datalogging cable?
Required materials:
CDROM Audio Cable from an older computer
Serial Cable or Null Modem Cable (DB9)
what i am using is a Null Modem Cable and a CDROM Audio Cable, theoretically if i find out which pins the computer needs to read for the cable i can build 2 datalogging cables from 1 null modem cable.
any help would be appreciated
