D15B cold start issues
i installed a D15B in a civic, when the cars starts from cold it sputters badly. it starts sounding like it is running on 2 cylinders with fowled plugs . back firing badly and popping.
The timing i accume is out.
i have the crank pulley at TDC, the cam gear has a Pointed ( little triangle ) to the right of that there is a semi-circle also cut . do i align the cam gear with the triangle or with the semicircle. when i put it at the triangle the car runs really slugish and doesnt pull hard at all. with it between the triangle and the circle the car seem ok, and close to the circle the car runs good.
The distributor is set to 16 degrees.
Also the check light doesnt go off, from the time the key is in and the ignition is turn on it never goes off.
If i try to bridge the ECU to get the code. that doesnt even work . i tried 2 different ECUs in the car and both give me the same results .....
any ideas on what can be those problems

FIRST: you have to find out what CHECK ENGINE code you are throwing. If the light stays solid when going to the ON postion on the key.. there is something wrong with the sensors, dissy , or ecu.. ..
to check the code.. look at ecu.. there is a red flashing light.. count the flashes.. ..
once you get the error codes.. search for the HONDA ECU error codes and see what sensor is freaking out... that is where your spudder is coming from
my question... somthing in your dissy broke..

no you dont get it, i know how to check codes but when i bridge the ecu it doesnt throw a code. that is what the main problem it.
today i realised my thermo sensor ( under the Distributor broke) it is the one next to the temp sending unit sender.
Can that cause hard starting when cold ?
