Default Cut hole in roof

I just want to cut a hole somewhere in the cabin for ventilation. I think the roof would be ok since heat flows up. But can you think of an easier place to cut a small hole?

What are my worries? One is that I have to worry about water coming in to the cabin if its on the roof.
What about the floor?

I ment when the car is parked and perhaps when its parked, powered off and perhaps with someone inside or not.
Maybe I'll attach a fan there.

They sell window vents. I take it that you do not have a sunroof.

So, you guys don't modify your cars?

I already made plenty of mods to my honda civic.

I've mounted a solar panel in the rear dash. An AGM battery in that space next to the spare tire. A small hole in the trunk floor with a tube extending to the cabin ... why? It's easier than flinging mucus out the window and hitting a cop.
LED lights on the ceiling. LED daytime running lights.

Well, I'm cutting a hole somewhere.
And another thing, those window vents don't work and I have to crack open a window in a bad neighborhood.

I did that with nissan sentra. I caught some guy putting a stick in it to try to open the door.

Of course, they could simply break the glass and open the door.

Yeah, I just did. It felt great. Until someone opened the door and let out all the carbon monoxide.

Why is everyone so against making my own vent?

BTW what is that? a break light?

We're not against it. We're just considering the pragmatic options.

If you cut a hole, consider this:
1) How does it open and close?
2) How do you prevent water from entering?
3) If water does enter, how do you deal with it?

EGAD!! No! A bear can climb in one of those vents!

I'm looking at one of these:
http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs...classNum=12407

Like a one or two inch hole.

1)it doesnt close, its just a hole in the roof
2)you dont its a hole in the roof
3)cut a hole in the floor directly beneath the hole in the roof

dude its a honda, if they want in they will get in. 80% of older hondas can be opened with a screwdriver or a coathanger. Im assuming this is an older honda because you are considering cutting a hole in the roof, and then questioning people because they flamed you

I wouldn't do it personally, especially on a car like a Honda. It doesn't even have a chance to "blend in" at all.

Wait! is that a functional scoop on a Scooby? I'm still trying to find it on the outside of the car.

Hey, if I see one on a Subaru I figure they're going for some sort of rally inspired look. If I see one on a Honda I think, "WTF?"

I don't think the world is really losing anything if one Honda Civic gets a hole cut in it's roof though.
