Default CTR cams installed!

Last night I installed a full set of ITR vavle springs, CTR cams, and AEM adjustable cam sprockets in my B16A1. I havent noticed a huge difference but I guess I need to tune? It also lags a bit and looses a little power as soon as it hits vtec but then picks up quickly. Anyone know what causes this? Do I need a VAFC?

the lag is because they need to be tuned. Maybe an ITR or ctr ecu, or VAFC would work

i did mine this weekend too (ITR) didnt do the valve springs yet, but i definately felt a huge difference, tires break loose when vtec hits in 1st. are you sure your timing is set right? cause we put my GSR cams in my friends B16 and it was bogging a bit so we took it apart and realized that it was a little off. by the way, how did you do the valve springs?

TUNE TUNE TUNE. Take that biach to a dyno and ask them to tune.. It might cost a few dollaz but its worth it! Normally 80 to 100 an hour. Ask for about 2 hrs

where's your vtec crossover point?
You should have it set around 5500-5700rpm.

my vtec point is currently at about 5k, whatever is stock on the b16a. should it be higher now? Im not going to get an ITR ECU but a vafc sounds or at least a chip.

So this sounds like a tunning thing? not timing? cuz I know everything was dead on when i put it back together so its not like the belt is off by a tooth or anything.

I did the springs with an overhead valve spring compressor and I compressed the cylinder with 90 psi. Then i used a magnetic screwdriver to remove and reinstall the keepers. Its a 2 man job for sure. I have the spring compressor for sale if anyone wants it. Its only been used twice.

yeah 5000rpm is too way to early. You'll see what I'm talkin about on the dyno. Your hittin the dip before vtec and that's why it feels' laggy before crossover. Raise up the vtec point to about 5500-5700 (I suggest 5700 though) and it should improve/smooth the vtec crossover ...

Yeah, it doesn't quite sound like an ignition timing issue, but a vtec crossover issue.

i researched some more an yeah that sounds right. vtec is way too early. Im gonna go grab a vafc and see how that helps. I also noticed that if i use vtec too much my gas gauge drops like a rock. im assuming this could also be cause be vtec being too early?
