Default Crankshaft Hardening

can a honda crankshaft be hardend anymore than it is from the factory??? just wondering, b/c i am tacking a michining course at a technical college and i can just go and put it in the oven at school if it would be any kind of advantage

I don't think that would be a good idea.
You may cause more trouble.
The treatment in the oven may affect the hardening.You may remove the treatment....

I believe ther is nothing wrong with the stock crank.Even with mods.
I only seeing people doing a micropolish,deburr or even maybe some kind of knife edge...

But as far as hardening,I wouldn't mess with that.

I know,you've learned the metal treatment....but keep it like it is now.

Im not so sure about what method Honda uses for hardening. Porsche's have nitrided cranks. I've seen someone try like hell to file a 993 crankshaft without a scratch being left. I have never seen anyone file a Honda crank but I wonder if it would stand up against one.
