Default coil bind due to wring crower retainer

My motor died upon VTEc engagement. No bent valves, all bearings are fine, then i started to think it was coil bind. I did a search and came up with a post tlaking about the crower ti retainer for the b16 heads being the 093D not the 093 which mine are. the guy said that his mechanic told him thatthe 093 retainers will bind. Can anyone verify? crower seems to have changed their part numbers according to their website. So im hoping thats what happened.
