ok so i've still got a code 9 ive replaced the distributor, had the timeing belt done and so is all timed up, and i still have it so i stripped the distributor down and replaced the wireing with another distributor to see if that would work but still have code 9 what else can i do???

 

The problem is probably in the wiring before the distributor or it could even be a bad ecu.

 

Did this happen after the timing belt or before?

 

dist., ecu, wiring, youve already eliminated the dist.

ok so i shall have a look at the wireing before the dist and try a new ecu..
and am i right in saying its a p30 ecu obd1???

continuity test the dist. plug with the ecu plugs

new or new used? brand new is expensive

 

try ecu.

 

i shall try a continuity test sometime this week then with the ecu plugs do you no which wires i need to test??
