Default clutch problem, throw out bearing? iv read the other posts...

iv read the other post with peoples throw out bearings, but im wundering if thats even my problem..they can get it into gear and i cant..

i just insured my civic after driving my 240 for about a month ina half - two months, and i went out for a drive easing every shift. for maybe 20-30 mins. then i was on the highway and wanted to feel my car again, so i went, first gear was fine.then when i went to hit my clutch and shift to 2nd, something liek gave up my clutch just went totaly soft,,and i couldnt even get it into a gear i could but barely.. i had to force it. after that happend my cltuch was soft and i could feel the motor vibrating, its soft then goes hard at the end, thot maybe it was a leak so i replaced my cylinders.

after replacing, i went and bled it..then tried my clutch it felt the same(soft then goes hard at the end).. and this time as my car was still running, in Neutral ofcrose cuz i coudlnt get into a gear.. i walk out to look at my motor..and i hear something ticking really loud?? soo i immediatly shut motor off..and since havnt started it up.

anyone kno wut the problem is? i read throw out bearing,

to make it short (sorry for going on, just wanna describe wut happend so i dont have to later.. ha) :
1) wont go into gear when clutch is fully pressed
2) clutch is really soft then hard near the end
3) i can feel the clutch vibrate like my motor, when its at the soft point when im pressing the clutch
4) ticking noise inside the tranny somwhere

if anyone knows wut i could do it would help, i wanna fix this asap cuz im droppin the tranny in a couple days to see if anything is outta place
ill keep searching
thanks
Jay

o also while i pulled over to see wut was happening, i looked at my clutch fluid and it was kinda low. could that cause the problem.. i was shifting and the clutch was FINE for a while..then just that one hard press and shift it gave out.

Could be the clutch salve is shot.

Could also be that the clutch itself is shot. One of the springs in the disc could have gone out...that could be your noise.

The clutch gets my vote too. I went through a similar experience 2 weeks ago. Replaced the master cylinder, bled, etc. to no effect. The clutch felt really weird. Difficult to get into gear, funky feeling pedal, but not consistently, random engagement points, bad "stuttering", etc.

While replacing the clutch I found a broken piece inside the disc associated with one of the springs. Glad I replaced it before any damage was done...

yeah, keep us updated. my friend has almost the same problem with his 95 eclipse. when the motor is off, the gears seem to work fine. when the car is running, can't go into any gear. checked the fluid level and it's fine. also bleed the clutch master cyl/slave. you can see the slave engaging/disengaging. we're trying to figure out whether it's the clutch or the tranny that's shot.

...A good indicator that the clutch is the problem and not the tranny.

exactly what I was thinking. my friend keeps insisting it's a blown tranny. we'll crack it open and see what's the deal.
