Default cleaning solution eating oil pan gasket?

Ugh... im trying to diagnose an oil leak and its comming from under the crank pulley but i had the pulley off a few days ago and the pump and area around the pump is dry. the only thing that can be leaking is the oil pan gasket.

all this started when i had my engine out and used a degreaser to clean the engine (also used oxy clean and CLR to remove some stains on it)

could any of this have eaten part of the gasket off? im replacing the gasket on tuesday when the new ones gets in.

its a small leak (5-10 drops per night) and im stumped...

I dont know if that could have eaten the gasket...How many miles are on it? Other than that I guess just make sure its nice and clean for the new gasket, and see if it leaks again.

edit- meant to say, I have no idea if it would eat the gasket..I was not saying that it definately didnt eat it away. crap, think i just got more confused.

i know what you mean.
i think it could be the outer oil seal on the oil pump (between timing belt gear and oil pump)

im gonna drop the pan and see what happens.

and poison im not sure its the gasket
thats the problem!
