Default clean oil?

i was watching some racing video the other day and there was a bit where the guy was draining the oil from his engine and this oil looked as new as the stuff you put in. I know it isnt usually the case but should all engine oil be this clean if you look after your engine. is all that engine flushing and de coking good for the engine?

I put some new oil in my engine the other day after an engine flush and then drained out the oil again just to see the colour of it and lets just say it didnt seem to make a difference... has anyone got any tips for cleaning ones engine?
thanks in advance
