Default Civic Throw-out Bearing Ques....

I've got a '97 Civic EX and I'm pretty sure I need a new tranny throw-out bearing. I needed to replace the same bearing on my old Civic, but that one had 140K+ on it - my current Civic only has 77K. Does anyone know why it would fail so early? I don't abuse/race/drop the clutch and most miles are highway.

Also, when I get this done, is there anything else I should have changes while the tranny is apart, like the clutch? Any info is appreciated.
